The Blog for Expecting & Lactating Parents
Hi there! We’re registered nurses and board-certified lactation consultants.
This blog is your place to feel confident in understanding yourself, your baby, and your breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding and pumping aren’t always easy, and sometimes the answers are hard to find. The information out there can feel overwhelming and inconsistent.
That’s why we created this space: to simplify the science, share what’s proven to work, and help you feel more supported every step of the way.
We’ll keep writing and sharing as long as we’re learning, which is forever. Each post will reflect the most up to date evidence-based practice, but also the wisdom gained from the incredible families we work with every day.
You’re not alone in this. We’re so glad you’re here.
Returning to Exercise While Breastfeeding: Pelvic Floor, Core Healing & Milk Supply
Returning to exercise while breastfeeding is more than about getting back into a workout routine-it’s about supporting your healing body while continuing to nourish your baby. As you ease back into movement, prioritizing pelvic floor recovery and core healing can help build a strong foundation and reduce the risk of injury. Many parents also wonder how exercise affects milk supply. The good news? Moderate exercise does not decrease milk production when you’re eating enough, staying hydrated, and nursing or pumping regularly. Every postpartum journey is unique, so give yourself grace, start slowly, and celebrate the small milestones along the way.
